Biosketch
Jonathan R. Nebeker, MS MD
Jonathan R. Nebeker received his BA from Harvard College and his MD and MS in Education from the University of Pennsylvania. He trained in medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston and in geriatric medicine at the University of Utah. He is currently an associate professor of internal medicine at the University of Utah. He is the associate director of the Salt Lake Informatics, Decision Enhancement And Surveillance (IDEAS) Center sponsored by the VA Health Services Research & Development (HSR&D) service. His major affiliations include the Geriatric Research and Education Clinical Center at the Salt Lake City Department of Veterans Affairs medical center and the Intermountain Health Care Institute for Healthcare Delivery Research. His research has focused on adverse events and adverse drug events in particular. His two major areas of investigation are classification of adverse events and statistical modeling of adverse events for surveillance and risk stratification. He has participated in or led multiple projects in these areas funded by the VA, AHRQ, CMS, and the CDC.
