Program Description / Statement of Need:
Challenges in Alzheimer’s Management and A Pragmatic Approach to the Clinical Treatment of Dementia provide an update for primary-care practitioners, neurologists, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals on the differential diagnosis and current treatment options for cognitive and behavioral disorders associated with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. These courses will provide practical information for those treating and advising patients with dementia.
Target Audience:
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of physicians, pharmacists, and other health care professionalswho are interested in disease management programs for patients with Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease.
Program Objectives:
After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:
Understand the challenges in diagnosis and treatment of AD
Realize the benefits of early diagnosis and implications for improved QOL
Appreciate the governmental funding implications and long term prognosis regarding health support for AD patients.
Review the demographics of dementia
Offer insights into symptoms of cognitive loss
Assist in understanding the diagnosis and Treatment options
Outline a clinical strategy for Dementia patients
